Zephyr Renewable AB is planning to apply for a permit to establish a wind farm south of Hol in Vårdgårda municipality. The project is called Bergaskogen.
The wind farm is planned to consist of a maximum of 3 wind turbines with a total height of 250 meters. The wind farm has the potential to produce about 60 GWh each year, which is equivalent to one years’ electricity consumption of approximately 12 000 Swedish households.
The project area is located in a hilly forest area at a relatively high altitude. The area is currently used mainly as productive woodlands.
Zephyr intends to apply for an environmental permit under the Environmental Code for the construction of wind turbines. Prior to the application for a permit, Zephyr have conducted a consultation in accordance with Chapter 6, Section 29-32 of the Environmental Code. The received responses will give input to the environmental impact assessment which will be submitted together with the permit application.
Provided that required permits are obtained, the wind farm is expected to be operating around 2027-2028.
