Zephyr Vind AB is planning to apply for a permit for a wind farm in Borås municipality. The project, which is called Våssberg, is located about 4 km west of Viskafors. A permit has previously been issued but as the previously permit holder did not commission any wind turbines at the time, that permit has now expired. Zephyr is now starting the planning process in the area again with an aim to receive a new permit.

The project is located in hilly forest terrain near Borås Motorstadion (Gäddered) and is currently planned to consist of a maximum of five wind turbines with a total height of up to 250 m. The wind farm has the potential to produce about 100 GWh/year which is equivalent to one years’ electricity consumption of approximately 20 000 households. The project is planned on properties owned by private individuals, Sveaskog and the City of Borås (municipality).

Zephyr intends to apply for an environmental permit under the Environmental Code for the construction of wind turbines. Prior to the application for a permit, Zephyr have conducted a consultation in accordance with Chapter 6, Section 29-32 of the Environmental Code. The received responses will give input to the environmental impact assessment which will be submitted together with the permit application.

The permit application is planned to be submitted during 2022 and the wind farm is expected to be operating around 2027-2028, provided that required permits are obtained.
